Network Engineer (Cloud)

Job Purpose

The Network Engineer is responsible for understanding the clients network requirements, design and implement network solutions, and ensure optimal performance and security in the cloud environment.

Additional Responsibilities

Infrastructure

• Design and implement network solutions for clients in the cloud environment. This Includes DC or enterprise networking designs.
• Implementing the low-level designs related to cloud-native constructs and 3rd party NVAs, insuring quality, secure implementation, and executing acceptance testing criteria according to the approved design.
• Specifically, implement WAF (F5) and NG firewalls (Palo Alto, FortiGate) including Site-to-Site VPN and Client-to-Site VPN leveraging different authentication methods (such as SAML, Radius, LDAP).
• Consult with clients to understand their cloud network needs and advise on the appropriate network solutions and strategies.
• Troubleshoot networking and performance connectivity
• Ensure optimal performance of clients' cloud networks by implementing proper network architecture, reducing latency, improving data transfer speed, and optimizing bandwidth.
• Ensure that clients' cloud networks comply with relevant industry standards and regulations. Identify compliance gaps and advise on remediation steps.
• Stay updated on the latest cloud network systems, standards, and products, and recommend their implementation as per clients' needs.
• Manage time and priority ensuring the network-related projects and tasks are completed on time and within budget.

Job Specification

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or any related field

Professional Certifications

• Cisco CCNA, CCNP
• Cloud platform certifications (preferred)
• Fortinet, PaloAlto and F5 certifications (preferred)

Knowledge

• Routing protocols: BGP and OSPF - IP address management, Subnetting, NAT/PAT, source-based routing, stateful and stateless ACLs.
• Security products: Fortigate, Forti manager, PaloAlot, Panorama, F5 WAF.
•  Management and logging protocols like NetFlow, syslog, SNMP, etc.
• Network segmentation, creating VPCs/ vNET and subnetting in cloud.
• VPN and SD-WAN technologies such as Cisco Viptela, Meraki, Fortinet SDWAN (preferred)
